What to Bring
Gear Checklist of what you should bring with to Northwest Ontario
The Most Important Items
- Passports and other necessary border crossing documents.
- Ontario Outdoors Cards and Fishing Licenses – BUY ONLINE HERE
- Hunters bring a license from the previous year, or a hunter’s safety certificate.
- Cell phone, cameras, watch, alarm clock, and headlamp.
- Polarized sun glasses.
- Sunblock, lip balm, fillet knife, and insect repellent.
- Cases of bottled water.
- Toiletry items and any necessary medications in original prescription bottles for the Border Crossing.
- Each person of legal age may import 24 cans of beer or 40 oz. of liquor, one carton of cigarettes, or 20 cigars.
- No handguns, pepper spray, or radar detectors are allowed into Canada.
Clothing Items
- Comfortable, casual camp clothing.
- Layered fishing clothes, preferably in fast-drying fabrics.
- Hats and sun buffs to protect you from sun burn.
- Quality rain gear, with a hood, pants, or bibs.
- Water and UV repellent clothing.
Food
- Our “American Plan” provides three full meals per day.
- If you are on the Housekeeping Package, you supply your own food and beverage for the week. We recommend you also bring cases of bottled water. Our cabins have fully equipped kitchens, refrigerator, utensils, cleaning supplies, and outdoor grills. Note that you should bring a cooler large enough for your trip.
What Camp Narrows Provides
- Full Kitchens include: pots, pans and cooking utensils; plates, bowls, glasses and silverware; coffee pot & coffee mugs; microwave, full size fridge/freezer, stove with oven, dish soap, dish towels, paper towels.
- Kitchenettes include: pots, pans and cooking utensils; plates, bowls, glasses and silverware; coffee pot & coffee mugs; microwave, fridge/freezer, stove with oven, dish soap, dish towels, paper towels.
- Bathrooms include: towels, hand towels and wash clothes, bath mats, bar of soap, toilet paper.
- Bedrooms include: beds, sheets & comforters, extra blankets, pillows & pillowcases, dressers, shelf with hangers
Fishing Gear
Basic checklist of what to bring. Please contact Jared to discuss ideas and whether questions arise.
- Polarized sunglasses.
- Headlamp and batteries for it.
- Rainy Lake navigation and fishing maps.
- First aid kit, with waterproof bandages and antibiotic cream, at a minimum.
- PFD’s and Life Jacket – These are mandatory and provided in camp boats.
- Landing Nets
- Release tools (Pliers, Jaw Spreaders, Bolt Cutters) for safely unhooking fish, to protect them and you.
